Just got a note from TCL that my broadband credit ends 1 August since the network upgrade is now complete. I must admit based on some of the threads in this group and personal experiences I don't know what the upgrade has achieved but I can't see anything. Not that I could afford or want it but there is no 25Mbs in Wellington.  Plus the network is still flooded with ARP traffic and speed doesn't seem much better.

Thoughts?

We got it too. I also don't notice any difference, and am still having trouble accessing some sites just like others have said. Disappointing to say the least...

I think I am going to have a word to our TCL account manager and perhaps have him forward a note to the CEO and/or Steve Jackson. They need to hear the voices of their customers.

Yes, got the note too. I'm pretty happy with my internet service, but that's mainly due to switching to a new dd-wrt based router. I get good download speeds and never notice any dropouts now (my Airport Extreme would need resetting at least once a day.) I'm still not happy that they increased prices by $10 per month while we had the $20 per month credit.

I got the letter as well today.

Overall I've never experienced many of the issues that other people have had and have been fairly happy with the performance off the node I am on. Recently (since the move to the new CMTS) I've experienced several nights of poor speeds, terrible youtube performance in the evenings (continual rebuffering) and the other night exceptionaly poor VoIP call quality with jitter.
We've also experienced several outages at work recently during the day which is on a different node.

Their network is certainly not "fixed" and what in effect is a $20 increase is rather hard to swallow, especially when comments on here made by some people who obviously have knowledge on the network indicate that there is still a lot of work to be done.

As I wrote before, I did get the letter. They say all is fixed.

I say FAIL, as measured by Epitiro:

This was supposed to be a 10 Mbps connection folks...

I stopped having to restart my modem/router also but no thanks to TCL. I had to purchase a new router and install DD-WRT software on it. That cost me $120.

I got my letter yesterday and just this morning had about half an hour of drop outs - up and down like a yo-yo.

Perhaps they are still working to the "end of July" timetable to get it all sorted and thats why the credit stops on the 1st?

I don't know about any credit, but I've noticed a return to cable dropouts in the last week or so.
What's up with that?
Tonight it's gone nuts.
Dropping all IM connections.
Can only barely get to here.

And I'm running a WRT54GL with DD-WRT on a "random" internal IP range.

What gives?

Oh, I get it.  We just lost the rest of the world.
NZ sites work, anything outside NZ doesn't.

I've had my letter for a week, but in the last coupe of days I've been having drop outs as well. And have got a pain in the butt one right now, where sites load really slow....

Gah, once again TCL are screwing this up completely.
