I am really liking the idea of tablet portability, size etc with the usability of a full PC OS!

Really tempted on one myself.

The little things make the biggest difference.

Does anyone know if JB Hifi has any other coloured touchpad other than black? I've tried to ask them without the need to go in store but they don't seem to know/haven't answered.

Yes they do (the Touch Cover).

It is available in Red, Cyan, White, and Magenta. I think they have all of them.

I know it's not strictly the Surface, but there's an LTE Ativ Pro being launched in the US. If it's compatible here then it might be worth considering.

I'm assuming there's no difference in accessories for the RT and the PRO? I'm about to get an RT and will be getting a PRO also and want to use the same keyboards, power, etc.

I don't suppose anyone's heard rumours on when the PRO will available through Harvey Norman or JBHiFi?

Got a Surface RT yesterday from Microsoft to use for a few weeks. Pretty sleek and have to admit fast, even for an ARM-based device.

Installed HEAPS of updates since I reset the tablet instead of using the account they setup for me. Also installed the Windows Updates available this morning, which seems to include a new firmware enhancing WiFi performance and connectivity.

A bit disappointed with Mail app. Although it automatically setup my Office 365 account (linked to my Microsoft account when I setup a HP ElitePad last week), the client is... minimalist.

Other than this, enjoying Metro (or whatever it's called) a lot more on a tablet than on my laptop with no touchscreen.

That sounds positive (aside from the mail app, which I have heard is pretty rubbish). Have you had a play with the ASUS VivoTab at all?

Damn. I'm tossing up whether to get a Surface or VivoTab at the moment. Leaning towards the Surface though.

Contacted the ASUS PR person to see if I can get one here. Last time she put me on the waiting list in February and nothing so far...
