Hi there,

After formatting and re installing windows 7 on a Dell Inspron 15 N5050, I am unable to see any sort of wireless adapter to connect to wifi.

I've tried everything i can think of. Downloaded the drivers off of dells website. Tried to reinstall the driver multiple times, tried starting the wireless service in services.msc

Thanks in advance, I've really got no ideas left. :(

Have you installed the bluetooth and wireless drivers?

Normally I run Windows Update (over Ethernet) and in all but one case it's picked up the correct driver automatically. Have you tried that?

Also, where did you get the drivers from?

Have you made sure it is enabled in the bios? I had this sort of issue with the integrated graphics card after a BIOS update, and it had reset all the bios settings to disable it.

Yep, driver issue.

But my first query would be how ws it reimaged, as Dell are one of the suppliers that still sypply media CDs with the drivers in the box.

Fresh new one here has 2 red 'reference' CDs enclosed.

I come across a lot of laptops that have two wireless drivers available from the official support site for the same model laptop - if Dell are listing more than one driver for wifi on their site for that laptop, ensure youve tried them all - process of elimination....
