I have finally gone to Win 7, however now I can not access a certain FTP site. On trying to connect, I receive a connection timed out error with FZilla, although there are no issues with another FTP site. Would this be settings on my side or theirs? Is this a known issue.

Contact the host. Maybe they are blocking your IP.

if you are using 'standard' ftp the the site you connect to and request a file from will initiate a new connection back to you in order to 'send' the file. couple of things to try:

1. tell fzilla to try connect and transfer files in PASV (passive) mode instead
2. disable the built-in win7 firewall (or diable any add-on firewall software)

if (2) works, it might be better to try and configure your firewall and filezilla to use an explicit range of ports for DATA connections and open a handful of incoming ports on the firewall rather than disabling the whole firewall.
