Could but decided for text because it's a baseline.

Internet Explorer 11 is pretty fast too.

Opened Windows Update and downloaded about 370MB of updates including a firmware update and installed without a problem.

the inking experience is cool, very accurate, writing this via inking with no errors, accept for me forgetting how to write since it's been so long since  I've actually written without a keyboard

I am still suffering from not being able to use two Bluetooth devices on the Surface Pro at the same time. Scenario is try and tether to IPhone and Wedge Mouse. As soon as I turn BT on the IPhone on, the wedge mouse becomes unusable (not as bad as it was in 8 and 8.1 Preview), but still cant have both on at the same time.

I wonder if someone could test this scenario out on a surface pro 2. I don't know anyone else who uses a surface in a 'proper' mobile role, so most people don't discover these issues which makes it hard for me to reproduce it in order to register it as a defect.

Are you allowed to return the SP2 within 30 days? Or is that only in the US?

I'm quite keen but would like the option if I'm not happy it'll meet my needs.

that would be a question to ask the retailer you intend to purchase from

The Surface Pro 2 is a laptop with a detachable keyboard. It runs all Windows applications you are used to, plus all modern apps.

It is reasonably fast for a business laptop and the SSD is a plus. This all means I can't see a reason why you wouldn't like it.

Your "needs" could be a bigger screen or bigger keyboard. If that's the case then skip it.

I don't think New Zealand retailers allow "change of mind" is a reasonable reason to return goods, and they aren't required to.

its just a PC so any monitor or BT keyboard should work

Thanks.

One of the things that is coming through on early reviews is the reviewer saying something along the lines of 'I typed all day on my Surface Pro and now my hands are sore and my neck is stiff'. This kind of thing really gets up my nose as it would be the same on any laptop! Mobile computers, of any kind, simply aren't designed for all day desk use.

One may find that this occurs anywhere someone spends a period of time with bad posture.  There is a very good reason why those of us who spend a lot of time working with computers are very careful with how we set up our desks and chairs and ensuring our monitors are at the correct height.

Went and bought a Surface 2 + Type Cover 2 Purple (backorder) for $739 all up today. Not going to open it as I did not get WAF. Going to sell stuff that I am not using in the house, get the money and then justify the purchase and open it. Should work.
