I cannot upgrade Exchange due to a the lowest version of Outlook it supports being 2010. I need to use Outlook 2003 for one reason, and one reason only, I can predictably add invitees to calender entries and send invites to them only. I'm hoping this function will be applied to upcoming Outlook versions, but I've seen no mention of it?

or perhaps it's a PEBCAC issue and I'm just not driving Outlook 2010 or 2013 correctly?

Exactly, that dialogue sometimes appears, other times it does not. In 2003 it will consistently prompt, however, in 2010 and 2013 frequently it does not, and it ends up sending and update to all attendees, even though nothing has changed but adding an attendee.

There is a second dialog that shows up when you add attendees, which asks what you want to do (send to everyone or just those added/removed). This worked for me in many version, including 2013.

The second dialogue is the problem, many times it does not appear, and all invitees get an update. Extremely frustrating. In 2003 it checks up front.

I wonder if my installs (have several on many platforms) behave differently because i have Exchange 2010?

Out of interest, I think that  if you update the appointment record, it *should* (as far as I can make out) send an informational to all attendees showing the changes (even if it is adding a new person), however, the informational usually does not require any interaction (unless the schedule or location is changed).

If I get time tomorrow I will try and check to see if there is something in Exchange (2010) that can be configured as I cant find anything in outlook (2013)

Thanks. I'll check the Exchange server is up to date, maybe missing an update or service pack.
