In Windows PowerShell type these two commands to establish daylight saving time status of system clock. It wll return either true or false.

$a = Get-Date
$a.IsDaylightSavingTime()

Tested in Win 7 presumably works on 8.1

Of course the linux equivalent of get-date is more versatile;

$ TZ="Africa/Timbuktu" date

Nathan, any word on this?

Today I logged into my HP Microserver via remote desktop and look at the clock (top is Microserver, bottom is my laptop):

Checked the timezone and location were correct, and upon updating the time with the NTP server it came alright. The HP Microserver is running Windows Server 2012 R2.
