TwoSeven:
Brumfondl: Odd. On the Start Menu on my build 10130 machine there is an All Apps menu in the bottom left hand corner...

That is the new one, it just gives an alphabetic list of the main applications you have installed.  As a developer I have over 200 apps, so there is quite a bit of scrolling needed using that new menu (or one needs to know the name of each app which doesn't help with multiple versions of the same program).

What is needed is a way to expand so one can see all of the sub-programs within an app.   This is what the old windows 8.1 menu did.

I get where you are coming from. I would guess that have changed it because people like me got annoyed by that wall of programs. I prefer the folders of items (if a program has multiple entries) you can open like the old Windows 7 version that they are putting in now.

It still has lots of display errors on my ASUS VivoTab. Parts of the screen just don't show any text, only background, although if I tap an action is performend. Obviously something wrong with the video drivers.

I am not sure I will be installing this on my laptop once it goes RTM - might have to wait a few months until it's stable. Like Windows Vista. Or Windows 8 - remember how much Windows changed between 8 -> 8.1 -> 8.1 Update?

Hmm... looks like you can reserve your copy of Windows 10 now and have it pre-loaded when it is ready!

Cool. How easy will it be to get an ISO? I'll do a fresh install, using my W7 serial to upgrade from.

Yeah I am keen to try it out but I have to say I am a little shy after well you know, Vista and 8.  So I will try it out on my laptop to see how it goes.

I have 10 x Windows 7 PCs and don't want to download a large OS 10 times.
Also my laptops have almost-full hard drives, so a downloaded upgrade could be a problem.

Hopefully a (legit) ISO will be available.

It is reported that windows 10 will 'force' updates on people.

Does this mean it will try to download updates on a cellular data connection?

My Dell Venue 11 Pro is a weird mix of fast and very slow under Windows 10, I'm hoping for a pile of updates for haswell too.

I've had a couple of Intel HD updates but I think it's mostly Dell causing all the issues with their custom drivers that need to be tweaked.

No, the OS is aware that it’s on a metered connection – Windows Update does as well and the 8.1 behaviour continues in 10, critical security updates only.
