Interesting too as that Mail brings all my folders but shows then in a completely random order. It starts showing in alphabetical order, not respecting the folder hierarchy but then half way through the list it starts showing it correctly, then switches back to alphabetical non-hierarchical order.

freitasm: Interesting. My ASUS tablet is now no longer activated. It seems it doesn't have a UEFI key either because when I clicked Activate Windows says the key is invalid. So I entered the *-TXYCV key from the Windows Insider page and it's now done. Wonder what happened there.

This is by design and expected

We've changed the keys in preparation for RTM

Sure, but is that TXYCV key still listed in the Insiders a good one (or a new one?) - because it activated ok.

What happens on this tablet now? I don't have a recovery for it, and don't have a key for it. When RTM comes it'll expire at some time and that's end of it (unless of course I get a key)?

timmmay: Interestingly, the 10130 EN_GB ISO doesn't work for me at all. On a USB stick it starts to book but then hangs. Run from windows nothing happens. The old 9926 USB stick works fine. I guess I'll try the EN_US ISO, and just found 10162.

Could be corrupted download. Maybe check with MD5 to know.

When Win 10 comes out, it would be nice to be able to rebuild my recovery partition on the surface pro to have the latest version of windows on it - will their be any instructions on how to do this?  I would prefer not to have to reset back to windows 8, then install 8.1 then install 10 if a restore is needed.

Currently I have been doing all of my Win 10 testing on a virtual machine because it is easier to reset and re-install software.  At this point in time I am more keen on getting the VS2015 release bits (on the 20th I think) along with the Win 10 SDK - with all of the hype on universal apps, I am hoping that we can use the same API (especially the Bluetooth API) in Managed Windows Services.

Btw Windows in v10 has a new option built in to rebuild a 'clean' blank system using the latest system files. This avoids the post-recovery windows update pains. Not the same but it is useful, in addition to having or maintaining a recovery partition or recovery media.

My 10159 keeps asking me to login to my MS account to get insider builds. I don't want to connect them, because I don't want it bringing anything across from any of my other machines etc.

Is that why I am not getting 1016x?

Definitive answer: W10 RTM will and does already update the Surface Pro 1,2,3 &S3 recovery partition in tech preview:

http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-nz/support/install-update-activate/windows-technical-preview

"Important: Because installing Windows 10 Insider Preview updates the recovery image [for Surface Pro 1,2,3 & S3's only] you should create a recovery image on USB first".

I installed 10162 on my AMD based machine, all the AMD issues are gone and the build is vey good and vey stable. I have not come across any bugs yet.

Maybe I need to take another look at W10 ...
Without reading through many many threads on the Insider Forum, does anyone know if "Pin to Taskbar" works (it didn't the last build I used), if Calc is still a modern app, if Control Panel and Settings are still trying to co-exist and if Search actually finds anything?

Calc looks to be a Modern app but just comes up as a small floating window so no biggie to me.

Pin To Taskbar works fine.

Settings is slowly taking over from Control Panel but still only slowly.

No real comments on Search.

Having both control panel and settings is crazy. Control panel works well, they should keep it. Providing an interface for common consumer tasks may be helpful.

I installed the latest build as my old install wouldn't upgrade. I'll slowly migrate over to it over the next week. It looks significantly more polished.

I agree. 1 Place for all settings has worked really well for years.

I am to the contrary the settings menu gives an easy access to the main settings most users require and appeals to the consumer user especially. Control panel is messy.
