Hi,

Has anyone come across any free or cheap aquarium screen savers which aren't full of adware/spyware and other nasties?

I'd like to install one on my HTPC so I can see fish when it is not in use.

Cheers.

Have you considered using a YouTube or similar video?

As a screen saver which comes on whenever my HTPC is idle, and loops?  I didn't know you could do that.

I would rather a stand alone program - a bog standard screen saver.

Which do you want, a stand alone program? or to use the Windows screensaver?

Stand alone program, use VLC and set the playback as the wallpaper, however this will not run on idle but when you tell it to.

You could try Windows Essentials 2012 and see if that does the trick, you should be able to set a video screen saver. It would need to be in wmv format. Tho I have not tried it myself.

Sorry for the confusion.  I want a nice simple screen saver.  Cheers.

I use the photo screensaver in Media Center.  It shows photos of the kids, but it could quite easily be photos of fish :)
