Microsoft really need a Windows Business edition as it just doesn't look good to have Candycrush pre installed on a business PC, and you keep having updates breaking things over and over again. Not to mention having business clients keep asking us why it's so unreliable and why they have to keep paying for us to come and fix it.

That edition is called Windows 10 Enterprise Edition, which is also now available as a subscription so its obtainable by anyone.

What is it in Win10 that is so unreliable that you have to keep going back to fix it?

Default install of Windows 10 1607 Enterprise, obtained via VLSC installed Candy Crush and Asphalt 8 and a host of other unwanted/unneeded bloatware that is simply not required in an enterprise environment.

(I believe the games may have been shortcuts to the store, but even so, shortcuts to games do not belong in the enterprise)

the latest Windows 10 feature upgrade includes a new feature that automatically installs a few apps from the Windows Store

So how do you get rid of these?  The simplest way is to keep them from installing in the first place.  There are two ways to do that:
1.Don’t create reference images on a computer that is connected to the internet.
2.Tell Windows to disable these features.

To disable the features, there is a group policy provided under “Computer Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> Windows Components –> Cloud Content” called “Turn off Microsoft consumer experiences”

or this registry key HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CloudContent  DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures

At work I have been looking at deployment options for W10 (both 1511 and now 1607) and as part of the deployment had created a PS1 script to remove 99% of all installed modern apps (Store is kept, but access blocked via AppLocker). I took this PS1 home last night to remove the bloatware that Microsoft had installed onto my system without my consent and now thankfully have a slightly smaller start menu and am back to only having one tile on the start menu (Edge).

I then set about trying to fix my corrupted jump lists which all broke in the upgrade (could not add/remove anything) - painless except for the fact I shouldn't have to fix something like this.

I then tried to get the system to make "Documents" the Documents folder I have sitting under C:\Users\[name]\Documents rather than my OneDrive. However so far I have not got this to work as "access denied" and the options inside Settings to change the default save location from OneDrive to Documents does not work (as soon as I apply, it changes back to OneDrive)

I then spent an hour giving my Feedback inside the Feedback Hub, but fat lot of good that will do me.

Microsoft - leave my computer alone!
(now I understand how all those people feel who are running more advanced hardware than I am who have to suffer when Microsoft decide they need a new driver that breaks things)

send me the link to your feedback in Feedback Hub and I'll make sure someone looks into it

Thanks for the links

Why do Microsoft make this information so hard to find?

Looks like what I want to do is to steal a MAK key from work, and install LTSB of 1511 Enterprise on my home computer so I do not have to deal with this frustration.

Anyone got any idea how I gain control of my own Documents folder?

There is no LTSB of 1511, there is Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2015 which is based on 1507 and Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 which is based on 1607.

There won't be another LTSB version for ~3 years.

It's incredibly annoying that products such as Skype Preview get installed on PC's that have no need for it. Suddenly I find my PVR interrupting me with Skype messages and incoming calls because it's installed itself, configured itself with my Microsoft login and sits their running in the background.

WiFi issues, network issues, Windows updates breaking things like printers no longer working anymore, programs no longer working anymore, boot failures.... the list goes on.
