Historically , Win COPY was less than reliable , where any sort of issue could result in the copy simply stopping
without error or warning.

 

Copy is alot better now in Win7,8,10 ; but I still dont trust it

I use Total Commander for this sort of thing. I can then see exactly whats there & not worry about Win trying to hide files & folders

I have had loads of issues with windows explorer copying large amounts of "linux isos" around the place. Command line works fine, so have never bothered with any of the other tools.

Try a usb port on the other side of the laptop
