I am not happy. My calculator opens and closes straight away, my MS Store App is broken (black screen), my start menu won't open periodically without a restart of Windows Explorer. Yay for productivity.

Have you tried doing an upgrade to the same version of Windows on the machine? I have found that can cure a lot of the issues with Windows 10 installs

It seems like Intel are pretty much using the "your hardware is no longer supported" for everybody with video issues.

$75 later for a new video card my PC finally works again.

But on the bright side you will now have a usable PC.

An "upgrade" to the same version is no different than a reset, surely?

An upgrade to the same version has the advantage of keeping all your settings/programs, which all get wiped out in a reset.

@networkn If you run Setup on an ISO/DVD/USB whilst in Windows already (or use the Media Creation Toolkit) you can do an upgrade to the same or a newer version of Win 10. It installs everything again and then moves over all your data, etc. I have found in the past that it can fix errors such as those that you are experiencing.

Take no notice of the posts on here, these are not a random sample -- most people have had absolutely no problems at all.

Yeah, nah. Its not just here, I'm seeing lots of odd stuff on other forums & reddit too.

for some funny reason people don't seem to post when they're having a good time

it sounds like you have a conflict with 3rd party software, probably security related or something that has modified UAC.  That's where I would start looking.

stopping the firewall service also can cause problems, that hasn't been supported since Vista.

Some of the earlier releases had Start menu reliability issues (in some cases tied into overly-aggressive security software), but the behavior has been pretty stable with the most recent ones.  If you are still seeing issues like this, please open a support case

aaaaarrrrgggghhhh Win 10 Creator update and precision track pads, it will do my head in. I cannot seem to be able to set it right and it's a right royal pain in the butt using either Edge or Chrome with it.

Have they removed or buried the ability to alter process priority? Can't find it by right clicking on things in Task Manager.{boy's look}

I would also like the ability to adjust thumbnail size of my pic/video files, because using a HiDPI display you can't see s#it. I read there is a max of 256 pixels for icon size. Need more pixels!!!

Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

FFS!

Back when I was trying to test Windows 10 1607, I could not get Cumulative Updates to install on the system when the updates were coming from our WSUS server (approved on the WSUS server, computer knew it needed them but downloads stayed at 0% until the CU was removed from the approved updates). Only way to get the CU was to manually download from the catalog and install manually .. since the VM I was testing on was not allowed to connect to the internet to automatically download)

Eventually Microsoft acknowledged the issue and said it was resolved, but by then I had given up on testing ..

Looks like the same issues is affecting Windows 10 1703 Enterprise.
CU is approved on the WSUS server, computer has advised the WSUS server it needs the update but sits on 0% downloading.
Have just removed the CU from the approved updates list and am now waiting for the computer to communicate with WSUS.

If this is the same issue, how the hell can Microsoft repeat the same mistake ...

The Windows calculator doesn't work properly any more. About half the time I try to run the calculator today it shows me this, instead of the actual calculator. Doesn't matter how long I leave it open. Calculator.exe us taking 11MB of RAM, but at least it's not using any CPU. This is on a surface pro 4.

Same issue I reported above. Same thing with the store for me from time to time.

I am having to restart windows explorer 2-3 times a day if I want access to my start menu. I am grinding my teeth again!

The thing is, the software on my computers doesn't really change that much. I had a more or less stable system directly prior to the creator's update. I had a number of issues with earlier builds of W10, but I'd kind of gotten used to the requirement to reboot my computer every few days or a once a week, and the only thing that's changed was CE. Whilst it could be a conflict, it won't be with security software since I don't run anything like that (and I had to turn off defender because it was killing all 3 of my computers).

I'm unsure if it's related to the Creator's update or just coincidence, but straight after upgrading steam stopped working on my desktop (It hangs and stops responding pretty much as soon as I open it - only solution is to kill it through the task manager)  I've tried all the suggestions I can find through google to fix it with no luck.  Call me cynical, but....
