ok so a pc i built for my mum is randomly freezing up everyday sometime in the afternoons...of course no idea how long this has been going on as mum didnt want to bother me... i looked through the scheduled tasks and cant find anything obvious.

symptoms are the mouse freezes and nothing responds if streaming video the video will also freeze and sound stutters n a loop.

the only fix is to power off the pc and repower with the switch

the pc works flawlessly for the other 23.9 hours a day

Probably the warmest part of the day... could it be temperature related?

Have u actually checked internally, mine clogs up of dust and also has excellent cooling.

Maybe a virus scan is scheduled and is running in realtime?

No expert but just from experience:  Could be a peripheral failing.  Pull out all the adaptors, like network, video cards etc. Use another mouse & keyboard.  Then try it again.  If it works then add them back one by one. Obviously if it's failing only intermittently it can take a while to draw any conclusion.

Boot into safe mode for a few hours and see if it happens then.
