If your computer had an OEM key it should b on a sticker attached to the case. Some OEM keys are tied to motherboard models or BIOS so it may not work on a new motherboard, in which case you will need to purchase a new one.

Some software have registration cards, if it was sent in then you could contact the makers and explain yourself and get another copy.

The registration number could also be on the case,  the cd box or on the users manual.

You might get a cheap one on ebay, with a bit of trolling.

If your PC is still in a bootable stat, try this program to extract your key:

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.
Rural Broadband RBI installer for Ultimate Broadband and Full Flavour

If you can prove you have purchased a copy of the OS, a receipt etc, then call Microsoft Services on 0800 800 004 and they should be able to help.
