Well my friends laptop was litted with spy ware, so I suggested to install Spybot S&D. They did and ran it and now we have got some problems.

HP Pavillion dv6000

The scan ran fine the first time and suggested to us that we needed to restart it so we did. The scan ran again before anything else had loaded. At the end of the second scan the computer just restarted by itself again. When it restarts and then we log in we get welcomed by a blue screen of death.

Error message normal: 0x000000F7 (0x708D7584, 0x0000BBA0, 0xFFFF445F, 0x00000000)

Error message safe: 0x000000F7 (0x00000000, 0x0000AC1C, 0xFFFF53E3, 0x00000000)

I have read up on microsoft support but have got no ideas as the following error messages I can't find anything on. The CPU has not been overclocked and believe there should be anything wrong with the memory. Should I test the memory?

Any ideas would be great!

Perhaps some corrupted driver or service due to the malware? It happens. Try a full reinstall and immediately install an antispyware and antivirus.

I am actually running just Microsoft Windows Defender as an antispyware solution...

It started working for awhile, about 30 mins, which I started to download SP3, and run the scan again, near to the end of the scan it blue screened again, it had the same initial error message, but had different error messages in the braccets, couldn't get what they were though.

Since it ran for awhile I thought it might be memory, so running a memory test now using a bootable CD.

EDIT: Did the test, no problems with the memory
EDIT2: I just realised that in safe mode, it only crashes when I sign it with administrator, and not the user account

Seems to me fairly possible that if Spybot was istalled and run in "expert mode", and everything found quarantined (hopefully, rather than just deleted) it may well be the case that you've removed some essential item.
I know Spybot has a warning about this.
(But maybe you know how to and what to remove -and what not - in "expert mode".)
The suggestion above- that the malware has corrupted some important file/s - seems likely. Equally likely to me, is that some important settings/entries/files might be sitting in the Spybot quarantine. Have a ferret round, see if there are.

Thanks for the replys, I just gave up and reformatted.. ha All is good now. Good thing those HP's have that recovery disk option heh
