Ive had lots of problems with packard bell and drivers! there website is pretty average. Chances are its a realtek 97 audio driver required. However i would use driver genius to locate the driver you need you can get it here Link. Download the trial and run it on the packard bell.
You will need to be somewat savvy at computers to get it all up and running. There servers are a pain in the butt too, you will need to try several times to download the driver as it will drop out continuisouly, but it will eventually download as it resumes after it has dropped out! once you have downloaded it there should be a setup.exe to run in the zip file. Restart computer and you should have sound, then uninstall driver genius. Done
