What I want to know is if I get my hands on any Vista DVD at all, whether it be a full version or upgrade DVD, will it allow me to install any version of Vista (eg basic, premium, business, ultimate) with no key, but limiting factor of a 30 day evaluation period?

Why I ask is I want to trial various versions of Vista before I spend megabucks buying a full version.

If you have a Vista DVD which comprises of all editions*, then when you upgrade to a higher edition, you can evaluate it.

* - Best way to find whether you have all editions is, during the install, do no enter a product key. If the installer asks to choose the right edition you bought by displaying all the various editions, then you have all the editions in that DVD.
