Pushed a wrong button on the first bit, hence the random bit of info in the middle.

Also, noticed at the end of the code on the text file it said this about a monitor, is it my problem?

I think now is the time to get out that USB stick with the Windows Installation on it and do a re-install keeping your personal settings πŸ˜€

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Cheers mate. I'll work on it tomorrow and report back. I'll now do it from my old/broken laptop, as that seems to be working "fine" now, just a few small things not working correctly. The brightness on full blast is doing my head in, I'm not used to it that bright for so long. I also don't have any background image when I login, not on the desktop, just on the background login page. I'm assuming that's all connected.

Update: So the installation of Windows 10 has worked. Went through the setup process with Cortana etc (Swiftly muted). I can now adjust brightness! And heading into Device Manager it looks like everything is fine.

I'm not sure what version of windows 10 I was on, this one looks a bit different that's for sure. I'm sure I'll work it out.

I did however choose to delete all files, however looking on the hard drive it still has my old files there, so half my hard drive is taken up, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I thought it was going to be a "clean-slate" kinda thing. How can I wipe all my old files?

Thanks!

Sounds odd if you did a complete wipe and install, or are these under a different drive letter by any chance?

Both C I'm assuming?

This PC > OS (C:) > Windows.old > Users > (My name) > Then has all my files. EG: If I click Desktop, it has all the files that were on my desktop.

Should I go to Update & Security > Recovery > Remove Everything?

Sounds as if despite what you thought, you opted to preserve the previous copy of windows files. Have a read of Delete Your Previous Version of Windows and if you're sure you have backup copies of all of your documents, photos, other important stuff etc, then you should be safe to delete

Thanks mate. All sorted now. Pretty much good to go then I guess.

However, if I was to go into Update & Security > Remove everything route I mentioned earlier, what's that going to do for me? I guess, what's the difference between that, and what I've just done (Deleting previous version of windows and all my files).

Not entirely sure what you're seeing under Settings / Update & Security. All I'm seeing is: "Reset this PC" and "Advanced Start-up". Possibly you had a further option to remove the windows.old files when they were still present. Unsure really.

Well thats pretty much what you've just done with the reinstall. You don't want to repeat it again πŸ˜€

Thanks to everyone for helping, but especially Gordy and Allan. Case closed and learnt how to do something new. Appreciate it.
