Aaroona:
You said you reinstalled windows, but did you try a clean install? Install to a different partition and try from there.

-or- iirc, Dell has a recovery option which allows you to restore the laptop back to factory-defaults (So you don't have to manually format/reinstall/etc). You should try that if possible.

Yeah, reinstalled like, used Dell's recovery partition, using their Drive image.

Cheers

Have you tried a fresh install from a "pure" Windows disc (wich is hopefully also supplied), rather than the standard Dell image. Advantage of not adding all the Dell addon junk.
Could be something corupt in the Dell image.

Rural IT and Broadband support.

Broadband troubleshooting and master filter installs.
Starlink installer
Wi-Fi and networking
Cel-Fi supply and installer - boost your mobile phone coverage legally
Rural Broadband RBI installer for Ultimate Broadband and Full Flavour

Nah, I havent tried that yet.

partly because I can't reinstall the FacialRecognition software (as gimiky as that sounds)
and secondly because i cant be stuffed now lol.

I might do it tomorrow, but it looks like i'm sending the laptop back.

It did come with a Windows Disk, so hopefully its just the normal windows disc (Because it has Dell's branding on the front :S)
