Hi All,

I have been running Windows 7 RC build 7100 for a while with Google Chrome. All has been OK up until a couple of days ago. Now every time I start google chrome UAC asks me if I want Google Chrome to make changes to the system.

I have uninstalled Google Chrome and reinstalled. I have tried running it as an administrator. I have assigned Chrome administrator privileges. Is there anything else I can do?

Chrome is the only application affected. Is there a conspiracy theory that Windows doesn't want me to run Chrome?

Cheers,

Matt.

All sorted. Chrome needs to be started as a standard user, not administrator. If started with administrator privileges it triggers UAC. This seems kind of backwards!

Cheers!

Couldn't you have turned UAC off with the slider??

Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

I didn't want to turn off UAC just to run chrome... And Microsoft don't recommend turning it off! ;-)
