Help please Laughing

I was trying to open a a file that had to be opened mannually with windows explorer did'nt quite know it worked so the missus thought she did and has changed something so now pretty much everything trys to open with windows media center and all the icons have changed to WMC icons. How the hell do I get it back to normal? I don't use system restore so thats not a option. Do I have to go through everything and tell it what to open with? I'm on Windows 7. Also the "run as admin" and "Open With" has gone from the window when you right click a file. cheers

Im not running windows 7 but you could try god mode to get some stuff back

create a folder and name it this

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

maybe somthing in there that you can find its got a bunch of differnt options and things.

if i had windows 7 i could probably find the answer. i know in xp that there is a folder that you can go to to add stuff to the right click. maybe somthing like that in the god mode folder im not sure take a look.

I wouldnt of normally posted this but no body else had replied thanks

"God Mode" is nothing but a flat list of Control Panel. If the OP couldn't find the answer in the Control Panel then it's not in "God Mode".

To change file type associations in Windows 7, click the Start Orb, Default Programs. Or visit this page for a script that will restore defaults for Windows XP (it should work with Windows 7): http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_easy_file.htm
