I have outlook 2007 that is connected to microsoft exchange through an outsourced managed exchange provider.

Connectivity and synchronisation works fine on my home office broadband. It also works fine on most networks around Australasia and some of Asia.

Occasionally it will not connect on some networks. That is my problem.

I have just purchased a vodafone vodem stick for mobile internet around NZ. Internet works fine but cant get into the managed exchange. Qantas lounges in Australia work fine but not the Tokyo Qantas lounge is another example.

Talked to the managed exchange provider and they said it is a network problem. Talked to Vodafone and they changed some of the vodem settings but still does not connect to the managed exchange and they now say it is a problem of the managed exchange provider. AGGGHHHH!!

I am not by any means an IT expert but I am a typical engineer trying to sort this out for myself as it has become a challenge and I am determined to fix the problem for my small business.

any suggestions apart from disconnecting firewalls which was my first try???

Thanks, Craig.

Its a little hard to diagnose the problem without any other information.

- Who is the exchange provider? What domain?
- What does a traceroute to your exchange server look like from a working and non-working connection?
- Are you using a HTTP or HTTPS connection to the exchange server? If HTTP can you change to HTTPS and see if this works?
- Turn on Connection Logging on Outlook and see if you can see what error messages or alike say
