I downloaded the Office Beta today, but when I went to install it I got the following error, partway during installation:

Setup cannot find Pro.WW\ProWW.cab. Browse to a valid installation source, and then click OK.

I tried selecting the folder OWP5.tmp\Pro.WW but it doens't work.

Please don't tell me I wasted a 440MB download!

Windows search picks up the file OK, but the installation doesn't like it!

WinZip opens it OK. But says it is corrupt when I go to extract it.

What is going on? By the way, I chose the custom "Keep old office files" option. I have Office 2003 installed.

Is there anyway someone could email me that 267MB file, so I don't have to download the 440MB over again?

I haven't seen this problem before, but it sounds like you have a corrupted download of that file

If you PM me your address I will courier you an Office 2007 beta2 CDROM tomorrow

Cheers

Thank you very much for your generosity nathan.
I have sent you my address.

At least there is a kind caring side to Microsoft these days!

You shouldn't be surprised to find out that not all companies are the evil people are led to believe. Most people I met on Microsoft (and it's a lot now, here in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and the USA) are very nice people, doing their work and doing it well.

Same applies to other companies I met, such as Google, Telecom New Zealand or Vodafone New Zealand.
