Hi there

Does anyone know of an open source, relatively low resource, helpdesk or call centre type of ticket/job management system? 

Any ideas apprecaited.

I looked at this a while back and TBH there isn't really any decent offerings.  Even in the paid SaaS space it's slim pickings and the functionaliuty is average to say the least.  The only half-decent option would be use SugarCRM - their community edition is open source.  Although it's primarily a CRM they also have a very useable case management module which may suit your needs.

We use SysAid here - we're running the Windows commercial version but it looks like theres a Linux based one as well.

I already have SugarCRM as a purely CRM package, looking for something lightweight, not as featured as Sugar.  A friend mentioned Flyspray, anyone heard of that?

Flyspray is bug tracking software, where I believe you wanted ticketing/case tracking functionality.  I'm not sure why you don't leverage off your current SugarCRM investment and just install the case management module.  It's not perfect but may suit what you need.

you could try trac from http://trac.edgewall.org/ - well used around the world. mainly focused on source / coding but should be more than sufficient for your base needs. there are a few companies providing hosting - try before you get started yourself.

There are apps like osTicket.. but im not sure if thats what you're looking for..

Yeah its a great system. Weve got it managing 500+ assets and 200 users - trying to educate the users to actually use it is a mission however Tongue out
