Wasn't sure where to put this so since its on my laptop, I'll put it here.

I installed Joli OS (www.jolicloud.com) and it installs fine, then I go to boot into the new install and only get a pixelated, discoloured bar across my screen. My computer is a compaq cq62, 4gb ram, 320gb hdd, ati graphics with 512mb GDDR and im pretty sure it can handle something that runs fine on a netbook. What could be going wrong here? Windows works fine. (windows 7 home premium)

Its the latest version from their website, 1.2 I think. I downloaded the windows installer version too, so it installs along side windows and creates a dual boot like ubuntu does. I dont have the live cd because I dont want to lost my windows partition

Write the non-windows version to cd and boot your laptop from that cd. See if it works or has the same result.

As far as I know booting from the cd will not write to your hdd at all, it will just give you the joli desktop, unless you make a specific choice to install.
