I've been tearing my hair out about this and cannot seem to pinpoint any particular issue by googling. This happens in both Finder and any file open/save dialog windows. When I open a folder it takes a looooooong time for the list of files/folders to appear. It's not terribly consistent so I can't pinpoint any particular factor. It happens often though - but a long time I'm talking about 30 seconds or longer.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions would be more than greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
D.

Trying to connect to a file server that isn't contactable? Not a Lion issue as such, but one I've seen before.

Also, have you tried running Disk Utility over the drive to check for problems?

D'oh! I thought I have checked the disk but obviously not - it had some issues and I got those fixed. So far it's all fast and responsive... hopefully that's done the trick.

Thanks!
