Hi guys,

I had a look around and I can't really find the answer I'm after. If I have a NAS with iTunes server running I understand the entire library is located on the NAS and not any of the computers. My question is that if I buy a song on laptop a and a different song on laptop b will both songs go straight to the library on the NAS and be available to say the Apple TV or iPhone (or either laptop)?

I want the purchased song to go straight to the NAS library without me doing anything. Is that how it works?

Thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately thats not how it works as the NAS box won't be linked to your iTunes account therefore it download purchased music automatically. Your computer won't just send the song to the NAS either as you can't transfer music to and from shared sources via iTunes.

You will have to manually transfer the song to the NAS I'm afraid.

Damn, that's what I though...

I have a MacMini. Would it be best to leave that on with iTunes open and just use that library across all my devices then and not worry about a NAS?

Sorry for late reply, yes thats what I do and I have named the machine in iTunes as 'iTunes Server" so I know what it is.
