The UI has grown on me over the last 24+ hours, I am liking it more and more.

Now been running the new release for 24 hours and so far, these are my thoughts:

Dark mode is AWESOME. Love it.
About time iMessage matched my iPhone iMessage
Seems faster on my Mid-2011 MacBook Pro

Haven't tried continuity or handoff yet though. Maybe tomorrow :) Wonder how the handoff will work on wifi at uni - probably very badly given we can't even use Spotify without it stopping every 30 seconds.

However, my notification widgets haven't been working at all. I've had to use the widget testing programme to load widgets into the notification centre. This appears to be a bug affecting different systems (Airs, Minis, iMacs) and the social sharing isn't working at all. Has anyone else struck this or found a way to fix it?

System Preferences -> General -> and just under the appearance drop down is a check box for dark mode!

Same problem but I hadn't realised its a bug (till now) - thought I had to look more closely at my settings. I've got a 2013 MacBook Air.

I've managed to get the notifications working, and the social widgets, but the social widgets don't survive a reboot, whereas the notifications widgets do, but change places.

This post here on Apple Communities was the most help - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6601621

S
eems like a widespread bug and hopefully a fix will come out soon for it! But if you follow what people have done you can at least get some of it working in the mean time. Very annoying.

Since I've been using Yosemite since the first betas were released I don't notice much difference anymore.  However my workflow gets easier and easier every day that I use it, so for those that are finding the transition challenging, just stick with it.  It won't take you long to figure out the small differences or find ways to turn things on/off that you're used to.  Overall it's far better than Mavericks was on my 2011 MBA, so I'm pretty happy with it.

Found my first issue today, USB transfers have slowed to a crawl. No matter if its to a powered HDD or a flash drive the speed is painful

Still can't stand not being able to 'snap' windows to the sides of the screen like on Windows. Really slows my work down and often just use my 13" Win 8 laptop instead of iMac now

There is a program called Cinch(Search for it on the App Store) that brings window snapping to the mac.

Just install BetterSnapTool.  It's a spin off of the wonderful BetterTouchTool for the trackpad.
