Recently I am getting a mass of "Disk Not Ejected Properly" messages every time my iMac sleeps.

It's running the latest OS version and this is a very recent phenomenon.

Anyone else getting it? Or worked out how to stop it?

You could try leaving a disc in the drive.

Is there actually a disk attached? If there is, check the Energy Saver control panel and untick "Put hard disks to sleep when possible".

There are 4 attached.

I'll try that one.

No, that made no difference.

These are things I suggested in two other posts for different problems, but they are worth trying for this as well:

delete the contents of these folders (it could be a corrupt cache file that's doing it)

User Folder/Library/Caches

Then restart. Then try this

Reset the SMC and the PRAM.
