Well it's out now ... but if you have an older Mac you are out of luck (like me), my Mid 2011 iMac doesn't have a good enough graphics card to what basically amounts to a pretty GUI :-(

Dark mode is good just need third parties to catch up. Wallpaper is kind of cool. Stacks I dont use as I never keep anything on the desktop. Safari is still a mess.

It broke some Apps, but then again they were about 4-6 versions behind the current ones.

I don't know if I want to shell out for Filemaker again....

I DO have a very very weird issue on mu iMac at work, the App Store and the iBooks store are broken.

I can NOT log out, but then again I am not logged in.

The keep saying there is no network connection, there is and I have pulled stuff off iCloud and the iTunes Store.

I have tried deauthorising the computer, and those 2 Apps still believe they were connected, but could do nothing, and I could still not sign out.

So... working my way though this.....

Linux:

That is largely the point with this release.  It's mostly behind the scenes improvements.  Similar to Snow Leopard.  I was running the early public betas on my 15" MBP until I gave it back to my last job.  It was super stable all along.  Installed the GM on my wife's MacBook and it's been great.  Power management seems a lot better.  Dark Mode is excellent, but it's the little behind the scenes improvements that help a lot.  This is a 1st gen MacBook so it never performed that well given the low power CPU, it's a big improvement over the last few OS's.

I've used Dosdude's patches on iMac 9,1's (Early 2009) to run Sierra and High Sierra for a while. The only issue I had was I had to reset the NVRAM after installing to get the backlight to auto adjust. Otherwise they are still working really well.

It's easy enough to install on an external drive if you wanna give it a try without commitment. :)

Double checking my file backups now, will update as soon as possible.

Spent some time with the .7 beta, but reverted as it broke my color calibration on my MBP.

It won't install on my MBP - too old.  Given it's "Late 2011", I'm not surprised - I'm more impressed that it managed to go from Lion all the way to High Sierra...

As a complete aside: I did hit a minor snagette the other day, in that the machine decided it wouldn't boot any more; I wanted to "fsck" the filesystem, but discovered that APFS isn't supported on the Internet Boot Recovery Image.  Fortunately, I could create a USB boot off my daughter's working (newer) Macbook Air...

iMac 2017 and MacBook Pro 15" 2017 - both going rock solid. Adblocker Plus front end was written from the ground up and utilising the Content Blocking API so that is currently very, very basic at the moment so it'll take a while before it catches up with the old Adblocker Plus that used to exist. There is also the re-entry of Microsoft, Adobe, Panic and BBEdit to the store along with hopefully updates to Final Cut Pro X, Compressor and Motion. On a good side, Affinity launched Affinity Publisher beta version which will hopefully make its way into the App Store by the end of the year. It appears that the App Store has finally picked up steam and I'm stoked about that. Regarding my setup - both are in dark mode - so much easier on the eyes especially when using them for long periods of time.
