Topic # 25807 2-Sep-2008 13:25

Hi

Have jst been reading about the time capsule online they all state that its a backup device but what I really need it for is for storage (like an external harddrive).
Can someone that has one please confirm with me that it does this as well?
And because its a backup device does this mean that once i delete a file thats on my laptop will it then also be removed from the backup files on the time capsule?

Maybe its the way im reading it but jst want to confirm as going to buy one this thursday :-)

IF you use the "time machine" functionality within leopard, It will retain files in its backups even after you have deleted them off you Mac,

You sound like you want to have a mirrored disk (delete one , the other goes to when the update occurs), you need to use Disk Utility and create a RAID set with the external drive (time capsule).
