It's not just games that they are quitting. Although not yet advertised as being on sale, their gaming hardware is also being cleared out. Palmerston North DSE has the whole Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T gaming mouse range & is negotiable on price. Their R.A.T 7's & 9's are still around $10 more than MightyApe though. Guy in charge of the gaming section said all games and gaming gear is being cleared out.

I got Dirt 2 for $15 from the Featherson street store, this was as they were closing for the day, the $1 bin had been well & truly raided. There were still a number of $10-$20 games, a number of Guitar-Hero titles mostly.

I know Dirt 2 is old, but I didn't have any racing games for the PS3 as I much prefer the Xbox360 controller for them (PS3 controller feels too small & light for my gorilla hands), but for $15 it should give me my moneys worth.

I pretty much got told it was practically anything over a year old that they're low on stock of it seems that pricing is not consistant across all stores though Halo 3 $20 at one $29 at another. Sims 3 $10 at one still $40ish at another so it's definitely store dependant not sure how long the sale goes for.

I would like to think that even some of the $10 games will get further reduced as they're not that great and some places had very high numbers of the same game eg GH Metallica and even at $10 I can't see it selling out for some time.

Still no complaints though I scored a total of 6 games for $37 2 x $1, 1 x $5 and 3 x $10. Shame is that I just happen to have the next 5 days off to punish my console and fingers to try finish off as many of the ones I bought that I can.

I was disappointed to see basically none of the Kinect games on sale as pretty much would beuy nearly anything Kinect for the kids looks like I will just keep getting them from nzgameshop.com instead where i get all my games from now.

So does this NZGameShop outfit actually ship local-format titles or are they imports that I'm not going to be able to play on my Xbox360? They say "compatible with PAL systems" but no mention of regions/zones, and afaik while _most_ PS3 games are region-free, the inverse is true of 360 games.

I'm going to pop back into DSE at lunch and have a decent peruse, I might've missed a gem, if they haven't been well & truly raided by now.

They all work on NZ consoles as does all the Blurays they have (obviously not play on a Xbox but play on a compatible player). I've spent coming close to $1500 with them with no problems at all. They also sell practically everything else not just games but movies, hardware/software, clothing, figurines and headsets etc. If your into getting a good price on a headset then their Turtle Beach ones are so much cheaper than what you pay over here.

As for games I managed to save $48 off the EB Games price of Saints Row 3 for the same copy when I picked that up. Just come out are some good double packs (obviously older games) like Assassins Creed 1 & 2 for $40. Shogun Total War Fall of the Samurai with Shogun 2 is something like $38.''All prices are in NZ $$$ and include shipping. They also run a reward points system where you can save up points for credits off purchases with them recently handing out a $10 equivalent to all customers which if you check out their selection could literally be used to buy hundreds if not thousands of items.

Sorry if I sound like a advert promoting them but this company has really allowed me to be able to buy games again lol unlike 3 or 4 a year. Diablo 3 is $67 (I think) although the online auction house is the european market not the US based one.

WOWHD (formerly CDWOW) and PlayAsia are other well known similar sites.

I've spent heaps with WOWHD/CDWOW without problems before.

It is now advertised in their latest mailer. I suspect that they will add games over time to it, as there is not much point in advertising $1 games in their mailer today, when they were all sold out yesterday.

The local DSE has big "$1 Games", "$10 Games" signs on the front window, they've got different bins, $1, $10, $15, $20 etc.

Regardless, it's almost all very old stuff, but to be expected for the price.

Mercenaries "World in flames" is good for a bit of dumb fun, they've got lots of copies of that.

Might have to look at this nzgameshop outfit, $38 for Halo anniversary ed is bargainous.

picekd up 4 games at 5pm from DSE Kroad. they still had lots of $20+ games left, but not much for $1. they were just getting a new selection to put out too, so they let me rummage through their boxes of games they hadn't had out that day. shed loads of 360 games, I have PS3 and PC though

Medieval 2 total War Kingdoms PC - $1 (you need original M2TW)
Uncharted Drakes Fortune PS3 - $1
Supreme Commander PC - $1
BF2:Bad Company Pc - $10

pretty happy with those

Some of the stuff in the $10 bin at mine was 2010,2011 stuff, but some were titles I had never heard of.

Have to remember though just because you've not heard of it doesn't mean it isn't worth a look and at $1, $5 or $10 most games are worth a look. I added The Sabotuer ($10) to my originally purchased stuff the games quite good. If I relied only on games I have heard of before I bought them then I would probably have only about 20% of the games I do now (approx 70 titles)

Lower Hutt DSE had a lot of the Guitar Hero games like GH 5, Band Hero and GH Metallica all available at $10 if you liked that or Facebreaker or Fight Night (round 4) or even Dirt 2 they were all in the $10 bins.

Think of it this way what's the worst that could happen you play it don't like it then you can seel it or give it away as it didn't cost you a lot hell if only $1 game I would even just throw it out (nah I could never throw a game out lol trade in's or give aways only).

I rocked into the Silva Park DSE this evening and sadly it looks liked it had been well and truly wiped out. They didn't have any bins but most of the gaming section shelves were empty and no cheap games. *Sad face*

Looks like the local store is restocking their bins, I just grabbed Blood in the sand & The Saboteur for $10 a piece. Both pretty obscure but reviews are favourable. For $10 it's hard to go wrong.

They've also put a mountain of Wii-mote cases into the $1 bin.

Oh, and I ordered Halo: Anniversary Edition from NZGamestore, will be interesting to see if it works properly on my local 360, hope so! (Also hope that the DLC is region-free if it does).
