Hi,

I've just had a replacement credit card issues with inbuilt paypass and added it to my wallet with the snapper card in for the bus. However 5 out of the 6 attempts to use my snapper card the bus with both cards inside has resulted with the bus reader saying "more than 1 card detected" in the past few days.

I don't want to take either card out of the wallet when getting on or off the bus, so any ideas on stopping the interaction? I was thinking of a tin foil barrier between the 2 to start with but suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks

The easiest solution is to keeps the cards apart. I have heard of somebody putting foil between the cards and then obviously using the side of the wallet in a double sided fashion depending on the card they are wanting to use, but have no idea how well this works in the real world.

It is possible for readers to query cards and detect the card type to avoid this issue, however it's not foolproof, and shows down transaction times considerably.

I have 3 sections in my wallet and have my credit card, airpoints card and snapper card in these. It simply means opening my wallet up and tagging the section I want to use.

Thanks Steve.

My wallet is not what you would call usual - its a small Pelican case. Untill this problem arose, I had the snapper card wedged between the rubber liner and the case.  All my other pieces of plastic sit inside a business card holder inside the main "body" of the case so sadly just popping it in the other side of the wallet is not something I can do with the current set up. Might try lining the business card hold in some way to see what happens

How about placing a sheet of Tinfoil behind the Snapper card (i.e. between the snapper and the rubber lining) thus keeping the snapper shielded from the rest of the case?

Given that paypass is going to be nigh useless for another couple of years, you could drill a tiny hole through the chip and disable it.

I had the same problem with my Snapper and my building access card, I got one of the USB snapper keyrings instead as I kinda need my access card to work.
