Maths was not my strong subject at school.

Number 1; 1234

Number 2; 1056

How do you work out what percentage to take off number 1 to arrive at number 2 ?

I'm look at how to do, not the answer, so I can use it on other numbers in the future.

I googled this but a lot of what it threw at me was hurting my brain. lol.

Thanks team.

The equation is 1056 = (1-x) * 1234 (if i understand correctly)

Rearrange: 1-x = 1056/1234
Rearrange: x = 1 - 1056/1234
To make into a percentage: y = 100*(1- 1056/1234)
And y is the percentage to take off
