I think NZ must have spent up large on Black friday!

3 parcels that I paid for on the 2nd were delivered to my house in Auckland this morning (so the standard 5 business days), but of 3 parcels that have been delivered to the warehouse 4/5/9th December only 1 is ready for me to pay. I dont need these latest ones by xmas so I'm not too fussed, but would be good to know they haven't gotten lost.

It will be interesting if nz post release any stats on how popular it has been, The problem with them bragging is it just gives the old guys something to use when bitching about people prefering to cut them out of the chain and pay less when they wank on about wanting GST on all imports, as if 15% will make me decide to go to their horrible stores and waste my time.

I have to agree re 15%. I would happily pay 15% and get something in NZ as it gives me cover under CGA. Problem is I either cant get it here or the difference is more like 50 - 75%.

The item I have coming is NZ$330 retail in stores here.  I've purchased it for  $NZ177  from the US.  I'd be stupid not to get it from overseas.

The package I paid for on 1 Dec arrived at home today. Less than 10 days is pretty good really. And saved me $40-50 off what Amazon would have charged me.

middleearth: Wow - my parcel has been added to my YouShop account - cool - I thought until I saw the price.  Have they put the prices up recently?  I have all the tracking details from FedEx with weight and dimensions and the cost I get is around $72 for YouShop, now that the parcel has arrived the cost has blown out to $112.25.  I have had 18 parcels go through YouShop and have never seen this discrepancy.

YouShop states that the parcel weighs 10.1kg - FedEx says 6.3Kg, the dimensions on both are correct.  The items I have purchased all up weigh 5.5kg so even with the weight of the box and packaging I fail to see how it can blow out to 10.1kg.

There is no way what I have ordered even with packaging is 10.1kg.  I will pay for the parcel as I want the 25% discount which ends today but will be checking it carefully when it arrives.  I know how the company I have purchased from packs and they do not use bricks as packing.

I guess there is always the possibility the company I purchased from has sent the wrong goods - or packed more than I ordered.  Thought that the FedEx weight would have shown higher though (unless of course FedEx is using volumetric). 

I just weighed five of the items I have here at home and they weigh 1.1kg each - that's all that's in the box.  Confused and soon to be poor.



Parcel turned up this morning and sure enough only weighs 6.5kg not 10.1kg.  Taking the parcel to NZPost counter to get confirmation of weight before they will give me a refund. Grrr.

I Thought Youshop charged for volumetric weight? I don't see how the 10kg matters?

Edit: ok my bad so it's whatever costs the most didn't realise that. So yeah definitely follow that one day up.

Yup. I had just started to use the YouShop service. I've ordered three items across a span of about a week. They were all delivered to the warehouse in the US. Two of the three have been listed as YouShop parcels. I paid for them via my phone and they supposedly shipped out a day or two later. Just waiting on the 3rd to be flagged as arrived. 

It seems to take 2-3 working days for a parcel to be listed at the warehouse after it is delivered. 

I have yet to receive a parcel...and they are now projecting December 20 and 21st for the two already paid for. That's between 3 and 4 weeks from the date of placing the order with the US supplier. I also had to use unblock-us.com to be able to place the order at all via Amazon as most of their suppliers don't ship outside the US...and they won't even let you place an order, never mind direct it to a US address, so I have to resort to VPN or DNS proxy to fool them.

I'm in no hurry. As long as the stuff arrives eventually, I don't much care. The same approach I use the DX (Deal Xtreme) in HK.

Especially when many NZ stores are doing little more than drop-shipping the same items.....with a larger markup. "We can order that for you!"

Interesting, there's nothing preventing one Youshop account paying another Youshop account's order. Seems a very minor privacy concern as it shows the delivery address.

Also there's no way to choose which parcel to apply a single use discount code to when purchasing multiple parcels. Although I found out after I paid that you can just edit the URL to choose.

The first 2 packages I arranged through Youshop were good. I've now waited a week from delivery to Youshop US and still have not received an email. NZ Post advises the package is showing in their system but has not been processed. Rather disappointed they are slipping. I hope they get it back on track because it's a great concept and a break from NZ Post's usual deal of the last few years (price increases and service decreases)

Unfortunately due to a surge of parcel activity at our US warehouse over the last week, there have unfortunately been delays in processing parcels.

Additional resources have now been added to the US warehouse team to assist in clearing the parcel backlog, and processing should return to normal tomorrow.

Many apologies to the YouShop customers that have experienced delays over the last week.
