How slow is slow tho? Anyone had anything come on it yet?

The check into their warehouse seems slow enough without adding any more delays to it.

Just had a package of 5 anker cables be processed and supposedly weigh 362kg and they want $1700 for it to be returned to sender. Obviously a glitch but has anyone else had this happen and how quickly has it been resolved. Packages volumetric weight is 0.52 kg

That weight sounds more like anchor cables. Are you sure you ordered the right thing? :-)

They stuff up a lot. Friend had something that they ended up entering as somethign close to 2 meters long and was going to be way expensive to send. It was an external hard drive. Few extra days added to the turn around to get that resolved.

Waiting for another package to be processed as well so I can hopefully consolidate the packages if the second package isnt stuffed up as well.

So, I just trialed the economy service vs the standard by ordering two items at the same time but one on each service.

The good -

The economy was a good amount cheaper

They seem to have both shipped together and so arrived in NZ at the same time - Paid 24th, shipped 25th, arrived in NZ 2nd, got customs bill 3rd, paid same day and now they are in transit to the local CourierPost depot.

The bad -

Because they arrived together I had to pay a $170 customs bill so there goes the freight saving - which had they arrived 3-4 days apart I would have probably avoided.

Oh well I'm sure the government will put my tax dollars to good use......

In future based on this experience I will probably just use the economy service for all my items.

That sucks. I try to only ever have one parcel in transit at a time incase that happens. When I see one past customs, send the next one.

Even if things arrive within a few days or a week of each other customs can charge you. Happened to me.

If you want to give the service a go, try out YouShop before August 31st and use the discount code REMIX10 to receive 10% off your YouShop shippings costs.

I'm having fun (heavy sarcasm) with YouShop UK at the moment. Item arrived at warehouse on 22nd July and still not in the system. Have got another item waiting to be sent onto NZ - plan was to consolidate with a 3rd item which is totally missing. Hoping that the NZ Post Customer Service team can sort this out. Have found on previous shipments that the UK system seems pretty hit or miss regarding efficiency. Hopefully better news over the next couple of days.

Out of interest if the item coming in exceeds GST allowance, does Post just charge the GST and ask you to pay or do they tack on some processing charge of whatever. This is companies like Fedex seem to do.

Happy to pay the GST - less willing to pay all the other handling charges.

I ask because I have never yet imported an item that has GST charged on it.

Thanks

A "fast" package just made it from Oregon to NZ in three days (including the weekend). That's probably the quickest I've ever seen from YouShop!

Nice!

I have a 'slow' one that I paid for on Monday. Still sitting at warehouse according to tracking. Pretty normal I think. My first 'slow' one - interesting to see how long it takes.
