Hi,

has anyone forwarded laptops recently (from USA)?

I've placed an order on Amazon (with Amazon acting as a seller) and they changed their mind after that - now they marked it as "not delivered to NZ".

So now I'm stuck whether youshop would be able to handle it for me or not.

Decided to give the slow shipping a test (first time I have had a YS parcel since they introduced the two tiers.

Be interesting to see how slow it is and if the delay comes from Portland or once it lands in New Zealand.

I'm waiting for my rack mount sas expander to  get from shipito to them, was going to be $200+ on shipito which would push the whole lot into GST territory, whereas it was under half on the slow youshop so comfortably under.

I got my last Youshop parcel on the slow shipping, and it was just as fast the the previous parcel I had had delivered from them (before they had the two tiers).

Have just used Amazon prime and youshop for the first time for a purchase. Amazon shipped parcel day after I ordered, they shipped on a saturday, and was received by youshop next day. Two days after it was received by youshop it appeared in my account. As I was in no hurry I selected slow shipping, cost $12.50. It was a small package so I think it was minimum charge. The parcel status then changed to ready to ship and stayed that way for 8 days!! The next notification was the parcel was in NZ . Parcel was delivered 2 days later on a Saturday to Hawkes Bay, 11 days after I paid for shipping or 15 days from day I purchased from Amazon.

So Amazon was fantastic, free and quick shipping. Youshop let down a bit with lack of notification, but they did delivery on a Saturday which I think would normally be an additional cost. Due date for delivery was the 4th so 3 days early. I think fast shipping was $5 to $6 more, so it would be interesting to know how much faster it would of been

Youshop regular speed isn't an express service, can take 5-10 days, so 11 days economy delivery sounds fine to me.

I've got a parcel at Youshop USA's warehouse which wasn't notified to me. By the time I realised it was there, more than 2 days had passed so I couldn't claim it using the tracking number.

I've now sent two emails via NZ post's National Contact Centre (https://support.nzpost.co.nz/app/ask/session/L3RpbWUvMTQ3NTgzMjMzOS9zaWQvVGtPNUh1Km0%3D) as directed, and even though it says they'll make contact by 5pm the following working day, so far nothing after more than 48 hours.

I'm happy to wait a few more days before taking the next step (an actual phone call), but just checking on others' experiences.

Also - how long can a parcel sit unclaimed at Youshop before it gets returned to sender?

My last one to them from shipito was really promptly notified to me. Perhaps it depends on the size of it since the bigger it is the more likley they are to do something with it?

My notifications have been within two days. Beyond that I'd call them, though I'd be aware of weekends - NZ staff may not work on the weekend, and the USA is effectively a day behind us.

sultanoswing,

I've got my notification 3 hours ago. So it was within 2 working days for me.

They have repacked it and it saved ~$40 on the delivery cost

Can you still purchase mobile phones and delivered via YouShop or is it now a prohibited item. Also I'm thinking of using Amazon and youShop for the first time is there a guide how to use the service etc?

Cheers

EDIT: Do you suggest the USA or UK amazon?

I forwarded a laptop. To make sure everything will be fine I just emailed them with a question with a link to a model I'm going to forward.

As of mobile phones - it is likely would be fine unless it's a samsung galaxy note 7. But you still better ask them explicitly.
