Had parcel 2 and 3 arrive on my door yesterday, so 1 day to get down from Auckland after I received the tracking number saying they had arrived. Interesting that they arrived on the same day after leaving a day apart ..

Aside from the misinformation from the customer support line, the long wait time for the parcel to leave the USA after being paid for I am happy enough with the service to use on small parcels

One thing to note about the delay in shipping out of the US is that the packages originate from Portland. Last time I checked Air NZ (and possibly Fedex or DHL) did not fly to Portland so that the package has to go to a gateway airport like Seattle, San Francisco or LA first. That could add a day..

A further update on my first parcel from US:

It arrived yesterday afternoon and I got an email right away;

And when I tracked the status just now, it showed CourierPost was already at my place this morning around 10 and left a Card To Call as I was at work...

I will pick it up from depot this afternoon.

Now starting to count the days for my second parcel to arrive - Kindle Fire HD 8.9" !!!

Got the email saying my 4th parcel is on the way, the strange thing is the day says it left on December 13th, 9.15pm (USA Time). Considering its not even 9.15pm here on the 13th I wonder if they stage the emails.

It also really makes me suspicious that they only ship once a week (twice if lucky) from USA to NZ

hmm lets see

December 3 - UPS delivered to YouShop warehouse
December 8 - Had no communication at this point, contacted them via chat to see what was happening, they looked into it.
December 10 - Got a response to my inquiry. They allocated the item to someone elses account and needed the invoice to transfer it to mine...
December 12 - Sent me an email saying they "just received it" (yea right). I paid for it immediately.
December 13 - Email saying my parcel is on the way to NZ, website lists "target delivery by: 24th Dec"

...not happy

My packages arrived today. Their tracking's really awful, but the service itself isn't too bad.

Its NZpost tracking. Enough said really ;)

I have had things in my hands so many times that were sent parcel post tracked and when entered either showed nothing or just showed them being sent at a postoffice, and no update for days after I had recieved them.

I'm not using youshop again till they will have the ability to consolidate and repack things. Too many things that go via works supplier from places like amazon are mainly air, and with a high per kg rate the volumetric will quickly kill it. At least when things go from work they are on a pallet of heavy stuff so that counteracts the boxes of air and it doesnt get pushed up to volumetric.

Here is an update to my 2 week waiting time for a package.

Thankfully they found the package yesterday and I paid for it and it was shipped promptly afterwards.

Here is the conversation that I had with NZpost and then the reply from the Customer Service Representative.

07/12/2012
Hi, my name is Philippa. How may I help you?
Luke: Hello Philippa, I sent a package to the YouShop warehouse in the USA and it was delivered on the 28th of November, but I haven't had any email from YouShop saying that the package has arrived.
Luke: Is there anything you can do to check up on it?
Philippa: Good Morning Luke, do you have the merchant tracking number for your item?
Luke: This is the webpage with the tracking info: <TRACKING INFO>
Philippa: Thank you for that and I do apologise for the delay in receipt of your email confirmation from the US warehouse. I have your YouShop ID therefore can you please provide a description of the contents and I will forward this information to the YouShop Team?
Luke: Sure thing, let me grab the details.
Luke: It contained <ITEMS>
Philippa: Thank you. I will forward this information to the YouShop Team and you will be contacted once we receive a response.Thank you for chatting today. Bye
Luke: Thanks :)
'Luke' disconnected ('Concluded by Agent').

Here is the email from the rep explaining what happened.

14/12/2012
Good morning Luke,

I am pleased to advise that we were able to rectify the issues that have occurred at our warehouse regarding your YouShop ID.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that has been caused regarding the delayed processing. Our warehouse has attempted to process your parcel and it was incorrectly advised as have no YouShop ID. What we have done, is gone back to our warehouse, provided your YouShop ID in order for you to make payment. There was an increased delay due to an influx of parcels being delivered to our warehouse during Thanksgiving and Black Friday, parcels have been processed by staff at the warehouse incorrectly as "missing a YouShop id". This was missed due to Human error and our warehouse staff has now been informed that the inputting of information is to be checked thoroughly as they enter the details from your YouShop parcel

Again, I apologise for the inconvenience that has been caused.

Regards.

So basically they got swamped due to Thanksgiving & Black Friday and human error ensued.

Finally got to open my parcel yesterday - I did pay to ship a lot of brown paper packaging (not you shops fault).  Also had a letter inside the box saying they had removed perfume samples so it could be air freighted (not sure that was really necessary) - so they obviously open the packages. Hopefully they will offer a repacking/consolidation service in the future as I think this would be an excellent value-add.

Last week I opened an incident with the NZ Post contact centre regarding Parcel 2
They said it was MIA/Lost, but to send through all the information I had on the parcel.

The next day it was shipped, and I received it on Wednesday.

Today I finally got a reply from the contact centre saying they see my parcel arrived.
Talk about slack. If I took that long in my current job I would be fired (First/Second Level IT Support)

My parcel left about the same time and I got an email yesterday saying "Your parcel, [removed] has arrived in Auckland, New Zealand."

I just hope it delivers before Saturday...

Interesting to see this service is spreading like wildfire. Retailers should pick this up soon or risk losing it all. Read an article on bloomberg on how the local chain Best Buy is struggling against the likes of Amazon
