Ordered something on Amazon last Sunday, got the YouShop arrival notification on Tuesday, paid and received the notification of departure from the USA today - not bad.

OT: Did my recent Amazon purchase show up on your affiliates report? I think I did everything correctly (it's hardly rocket surgery), but would be good to get confirmation anyway.

Here's a couple of screenshots of recent small parcels i've received from Youshop as a reference for those interested to see delivery times.

Today I received a couple of small parcels. Pretty impressed with how NZ post is running this. The site works well, and things happen pretty fast. Just a shame that the US retailer decided I needed some large heavy catalogues included with my order which probably cost an extra $10-15 of shipping.

From arrival in the Portland warehouse on 21/11 to my front door on 28/11 = 7 days :)

I finally got my parcels today
When I called yesterday to ask why they had taken so long considering 39 parcels got to me overnight when they cleared customs I was told it was a 1-3 day service and so I just got lucky.

These two parcels were marked as Economy parcels when they hit Auckland, hence the 3 day wait for them to be delivered.

I gave them feedback that they should add an option to the payment process for those who wish who get the parcel from Auckland to their destination quicker

Just received:

YouShop has introduced a new service that allows you to change the delivery details for your parcel.

Perfect when… you find out you’re no longer going to be home when your parcel is due to arrive, or it’s now more convenient to have your parcel delivered to you at work. During the festive season make sure you get your YouShop Christmas parcels delivered to where you’re going to be - no matter what your last minute change of plans. You can even change your address between cities.

How does it work?

Once you have paid the international postage for your parcel, it will appear in the parcels list in your YouShop account. You will be given the option to click on the ‘Change delivery details’ link. You’ll be able to change the delivery details of your parcel to one of the following:

• Another New Zealand address
• A PostShop for pickup
• A CourierPost depot for pickup
• A ParcelPod address if you subscribe to the ParcelPod service.
There’s a $5 (including GST) fee for changing delivery details for a parcel. If you wish you can change the delivery details of your parcel as many times as you like, up until 6pm the day your parcel clears New Zealand Customs. You’ll be sent an email reminder about this service on that day.

When we charge your credit/debit card for the change of delivery details, we’ll send you a confirmation email of the final delivery details.

Looks like 3 days for a parcel to get to Dunedin after clearing customs is the new standard and I was just lucky to get my first 39 parcels delivered in 1 day.

I know some may offer the 'but its Christmas so expect slowdowns' excuse by I started using the service in November and my first parcels were delivered in mid December.

Sadly as far as I am aware, other companies parcels will also get treated as second class once they hit New Zealand so moving to another freight forwarder is not really an option.

I have had a few parcels recently sent through i-parcel (by Amazon).  The most recent arrived yesterday, one day after it cleared customs in NZ and was handed to NZ Post.

So at least for North Island deliveries (Wellington), Courierpost are still delivering stuff overnight from other freight forwarders.

Hi guys. I have been looking at Amazon lately and as some of the items don't ship directly to NZ, it looks like Youshop is the way to go.

Just have a couple of quick questions. Is there a limit as to how much can be shipped over? Will I get taxed/have to pay anymore once it arrives in NZ? Any hidden charges I should know about?

Guess I better order stuff in the next day or two if I want them here before Xmas.

Cheers

You can send as much as you want.

If your invoice (product cost + shipping cost) is more than NZ$400 then you will have to pay GST. That's because Custom currently only collects GST on imports if the amount is $60 or more ($400 * 15%).

Some items may attract import tax as well (most electronics dont, jewellery and clothing do).

Notice that Customs may consolidate multiple orders arriving in the country to the same user and apply GST on the total. If you place multiple orders under NZ$ 400 to evade GST you may be caught on this. This is being discussed here.

You can can have an idea of how much you will pay using the Duty Estimator. If you have to pay anything then you will also have to pay a fee to the company doing the clearance on your behalf.

Cheers Freitasm. I don't plan on buying much, maybe $200 NZ maximum worth, so doesn't look like I will be stung with anything.

Cheers.

No, there's no limit afaik.
You'll have to pay GST on anything over $400NZD.

I decided to use Youshop during the recent black Friday sales at Amazon.  In short Amazon ended up sending them 4 packages.  3 of them arrived within 3 days and into my Youshop account.  I waited for the last one so I could get discount on shipping them over.  Waited 5 days and nothing, I checked the Amazon tracking no/link it had said it was delivered 3 days ago.

I enquired with customer service, at first they said the Youshop ID I gave them belonged to someone else!  That's the one showing on my account and has 3 packages waiting I said.
They then said oh sorry it appears either the merchant or the warehouse has mixed or transposed the ID numbers because my ID is similar to another, and put it into the wrong account, someone will investigate and get back to me.

I pointed out the merchant was Amazon they hardly would mixed up numbers on a Youshop ID, if anything they'd get the entire address wrong, so it must have been their (Youshop) warehouse.
The CSR guy was a little rude and went on about how they process thousands of packages and this could happen etc and repeated someone would investigate and closed the online chat.  Before I could ask how long it may take etc.

I don't dispute that this could happen although a little concerning when they are keying in the package they would have seen the ID does not match the name.
So am just waiting on their investigators response.
