Thanks - will have to hope my goodies from Amazon get to youshop before then..

Good luck! I had two discount codes for my recent purchase, both set to expire at the end of April, with delivery from Amazon estimated between 28th April & 12th May. My package turned up at YouShop on the 30th :-)

Noodles: Using Youshop at the moment to get a package from the US. Paid customs and they released it on the 24th (day before ANZAC day). NZPost has it as "destination sort" and the status hasn't changed since the 24th. Who would have thought it would take a week to get from one side of Auckland to the other. It didn't even take a week to get from the US.

My $80 parcel has been sitting on "destination S ort" for days now too. Wonder what's going on with these?

Phone NZPost and it will get to you fast. I did this and mine came through a few days later. Was thinking it was lost.

I got my parcel today. It took one day for Amazon to deliver it to YouShop, and three weeks sitting on "destination sort" in Auckland before coming down country. In total, I waited almost 5 weeks for headphones to reach me from Amazon. The parcel had been opened by the YouShop warehouse and had loads of their tape on it. However, the headphones had also been opened and put back in their box really badly. Brown hair is stuck in the hinge near the ear piece which indicates that someone has had my headset on their head. The parcel wasn't opened at customs so either someone played with them at Amazon or someone at YouShop mucked around with my purchase. I'm pretty grossed out.

Elpie, I'd complain loudly to Youshop. That's a ridiculous time to wait, and its terrible to have your goods used by their employee.

Create a Youshop account, then have your parcel shipped to the address they provide you. Simple as that.

I don't think that's what they mean.
I think they are asking how to get Youshop to have their parcel delivered to their local Postshop here in NZ so that they can go and pick it up.

Can you just set your NZ address to be C/- [Insert Local Postshop Name Here]?

Quite right, my bad. I guess I didn't read it properly the first time.

For details on how you redirect your YouShop parcel to your local Postshop, see https://support.nzpost.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/1242/kw/redirect%20delivery.

Thanks for the discount code.
My item just turned up at youshop today.
I have got the discount and the item should be coming my way now.

I havent got the item yet, but this is a great service. Really helps with those places that wont ship outside their countries.
I see the UK is an option and China being added too. Nice one nzpost!

So do you guys get charged when the item reaches NZ?
custom fees or GST or anything else. I am considering buying stuff worth around US$100 from amazon and wonder if ill incur any extra charges.

Thanks.

From the info below the total cost of the item (including freight) would need to be over $400NZD to exceed $60 of GST.
So $100USD should be fine.

The customs site has plenty of info - but this probably covers it well:
http://www.customs.govt.nz/inprivate/sendingitemstonz/Privateimportsbypost/Pages/default.aspx

"Goods mailed into New Zealand may be subject to import duty. Import duties are calculated on the Customs value of the goods in New Zealand dollars.

The goods may also be subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 15%, based on the Customs value of the goods, and including the duty (if any) and postal/courier charges.

Goods liable for duty and GST of NZ$60 or more cannot be released until the charges are paid.

There will also be an import entry transaction fee (IETF) and MPI biosecurity system entry levy

If your goods are valued at over NZ$1,000, you will need a client code."

You should only get charged if GST & custom charges exceed $60. See http://www.whatsmyduty.org.nz/ to help you estimate what this takes.
