Kthulhu42: Guys, I asked Youshop about the 50% off coupon and when it expires and they just sent this back:     "Thx, that promo code was specific to a customer's inquiry re their parcel, it wasn't a code for general use sorry"    so that's a thing.

I just tried to use the "Howabout50" code just now and got told that "This discount code has expired"!! WTF????? NZYoushop you suck!

Yeah it does suck, I paid extra for fast shipping to get my parcels here before the end of August so I could use the 50% off, and now (although I know they're at the warehouse because the tracking shows they're delivered) I haven't got my parcel at warehouse notification and I get told I can't use it.

Maybe I can use the 25% off voucher when they do eventually show :/

looks like there are delays in getting delivery from the US. they have a notice up on the website. I had hoped to get something by the weekend but it looks like it wont be until another 8 days.

Truly sucky!

Since the "howabout50" code expires today anyway, they should have just let it expire on it's own without disabling it (which is what I think they have done) because most people have already used it, and it''s not fair for the people who were waiting on parcels who have now missed out!

Really? It's not fair on the people who the code was not meant for that they can't now use the code they weren't meant to use?

mmm explains things. did they give a reason as to why?

as for the coupon HowAbout50 not working, I think that's not fair for those who have yet to apply it.
id say send an email to support for sure.
shame about the dollar slipping down fast...

You have your opinion, I have mine!..... If it was meant for only one person, it wouldn't have been shared on this site and other forum sites! and the "person" it was meant for would have already used it by now, and is also likely the person who would have first shared it!

Its not fair if they dont advise to people using the code that it is a single use one or that it was not intended for them.

I know right? It's not like they wouldn't have noticed that it had been used more than once, by more than once account holder. SMH

That's kind of how I feel about it, we usually have a youshop person check in on the forum, plus you'd think that with so many people using the code, they'd have noticed it was being shared around.

I mean fairs fair, they don't want to lose money. But at the same time, if you want to give out one-use coupons, you should make it only useable on the site once. I was expecting 50% off on my parcels, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered them. I had no clue the code was a one-person thing. I don't think anyone here knew that?

Could you try it again? I just tried it but the whole thing goes "You are not permitted to perform this action" and booted me back to the log in screen O_O

So I have almost got my package through Amazon and you shop (and with the discount code.. thanks) but I would have to say that it is not a very satisfying experience as I wait for my parcel to arrive....

Issues that I have discovered (your mileage may vary)

Amazon to You shop USA seemed Good - No real issues there, happened as I expected

Youshop USA to NZ customs - the tracking tool that is provided had dates and times in the future for shipping and scanning... and then past events would change dates and times... a little frustrating at this stage but still an OK experience

Held at NZ Customs - OK so this is where it starts getting hard... I realise the duty and GST could be required (got stung for $120 but that is not the real problem) the package gets stopped by customs and the tracking shows that it has be held by customs for payment, and you know what happens?... NZ customs sends you a LETTER! a real physical letter.... a letter that takes days to arrive...  How much does a physical letter cost vs an email?.... really? are NZ post and NZ customs are you working together now, customs paying postage to NZ post (and the paper and the envelop etc etc etc)...
Being excited about getting my order I though I would contact NZ Post to see if I could get this paid and cleared more quickly. I did not really need to interrupt someone with a phone call (its not that urgent) , an email conversation would be fine, but no... that is not an option... you have call the international mail clearance centre to get the customs number. NZ post general enquires said "Oh no don't leave them a message (the phone always went to voice mail) ring them back until you speak to someone" Really.... by now this had become a challenge that I was not going to fail on... deep breath and call NZ post... and again.. and again... and success.... customs number obtained, phoned customs for the invoice number, go to the customs web site and pay by credit card (really another "convenience fee") and hopefully we are all good to go! waiting again....

Do you think that someone could have a look at this process and decide that maybe physical letters should not be a requirement in 2014?

TLDR: All this could be solved with NZ post or customs emailing the invoice number when a package gets held. Cost savings and an increased level of service... win all round!

You really should have read the rest of this post, especially when people were talking about that and linked

I called the day after it arrived in NZ, paid over the phone and had my parcel the next day.

But yea, if they emailed or called you it would be a lot better.
