I keep visiting www.mixcloud.com and listening to the new offerings there.

Charlie XCX, caught them on the iTunes festival. Nice 80's synth sound.

I keep coming back to Alabama Shakes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HxNtWEIKhQ

I love it, can't wait for the second album and would go to Auckland to see them live.

How would I describe the sound?

Well, when Dave Robicheaux (of the James Lee Burke novels) walks into a clapboard bar in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, this is the band which is playing.

If you like Southern Blues I would suggest them.

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

30 seconds into playing this song, I'm programming in "the zone" that usually takes me half an hour to get to.
I can maintain the zone by putting the song on autorepeat.
Not sure why this song has that effect on me and not others - I'm searching!

edit: i give up trying to create the url link. bbcode gah!

Dunnersfella: Currently spinning Pearl Jam 10 - Redux.
Aaaaah memories (and poorly sung renditions by myself).

I loved that album, I don't think anything since has been that good from them. 8/10 for me.

I've headed back to my teenage years by listening to some Dinosaur Jr. Still enjoying it as much as they are it seems as they've just released a new album.

The latest album is surprisingly good. The 2 before it were decidedly average.

Ben Howard

Lupe Fiasco, and I like the new one from Guy Sebastian (I'd never heard of him before)

I would put up some youtube links but I'm at work :(

Yah I really rate Guy Sebastian, he is someone I suspect will have a long career! He certainly has made a fair bit of his little exposure in Australian Idol and I rate his last couple of radio songs about a 8/10

Karise Eden's debut album, My Journey, is pretty good. What an amazing voice, love her version of Landslide.

BlueShift: I've been thrashing The Deftones - White Pony in the car since I picked it up on special at JB a couple weeks ago. I also got White Zombie's Astrocreep 2000, but that's not clicking with me quite as much.

White Pony is a dead-set classic for me. Great all the way through.

Astrocreep has a few boring moments by mostly I love it. La Sexocisto will always be the must have WZ album for me.

This week, I have been mostly listening to...

Sadistik Exekution - Fukk
Gustav Holst - The Planets
Spasm - Taboo Tales
Deep Purple - In Rock, Machine Head and Burn
Dax Riggs - We Sing of Only Blood or Love
The Cure - Pornography and Disintegration

My very metal Doctor Who theme

Devin Townsend Project – Epicloud

Half way through listening to this album. Very much liking it so far.
I suppose you would call it progressive rock.

i have a back catalog consisting of Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Pink Floyd etc.

Lately though, I've enjoyed listening to Lana Del Rey on Spotify.  Interesting sound.
