Does anyone know where I can source a screen for my second generation kindle... I managed to crack mine and I really don't want to retire it... I love this thing

gfs knidle got a crack in it about a year ago, outside of its warranty.. amazon replaced it, and paid for shipping there and back..

contact their support and explain what happened to it, and they are pretty good about it (atlest were for us anyway)

in our case, it looked like a crack, but the screen itself wasnt cracked.. something went wrong with the screen.

When mine had a crack, I rang them and they just said 'put it in the bin, new one on the way'.

48 hours later had a replacement in my hands.

Edit: Actually, wasn't a crack but some kind of screen fault. But they didn't seem to care what the cause was.

I'm assuming we're all talking about the fault where the screen appears shattered, but there are no outward signs of damage?

Each time Amazon has required me to ship the device back to them, but sent a replacement straight away - arriving within a week.

I found the call failed for me using the number they provided - nfi why it just wouldn't connect. Online chat was required both times as emails were autoreply fodder.
