Hey Guys 

This is probably more of a vent then anything. 

I work for a 3PL Logistics company and we have been doing work for a client for 2-3 years now. They have a  Website for selling goods, In the back end of the system its pretty much a one stop business, coded for us to send out orders, inventory management, returns and so forth. Along the lines of SAP but on a website no hard software.

Anyway, I have told the owner who is the code writer/website designer again there is issues, for instance we sent out a order to their shop. They received the goods and then created a new order and marked the item we sent back into stock even though there was 0 available and was able to send this order out. 

Item 1234 

Sent on Order 2020

New order created. 

Marked a check box to say the stock in available ( without doing a return )  ( He needs this check box without it stock with no orders against it will not be in stock ) 

Sent on new order 2050


How do I explain he needs better code in the website to stop this from happening again as i would think this would be a simple fix for someone who has created a website? This messes with our inventory control BIG time 

He uses Botmax I believe

Um just tell him/her lol? Maybe since he/she is the designer it might be hard to criticize since they are your customer.

You need to provide exact steps to make the problem occur. Email. Number the steps and break them down as small as possible. It helps.

They maybe using some off the shelf system that has bugs that they can't fix themselves. Just tell them that you are having problems with their system. It could be down to cost that their system isn't better, especially if they are doing it themselves.
