So they can charge for their archive service. Then people wanting previous articles have no choice but to try google cache, pay stuff, or try a different news site.

Yeah, it's the pay-archive ... costs $1 per search and $5 per download plus GST, or more depending on what you're after.

Ouch. Wonder how many customers they have at those rates?
