Hiya,

I need space/time/freedom to do a load of work at home, can anyone suggest a good place north of Auckland that I could send my wife and 2 * 5 year old boys for a fun overnight stay ?

Looking for somewhere that the boys can run around and jump on stuff with minimal hands on from the wife.

Thanks!

What sort of fun are we talking here.....send them to a movie change the locks on the house whilst they're out and then pretend to not be home when they come back and let the fun begin.

Or were you thinking of something else???

On a genuine note I took the kids to the island off the shore (one with the Volcano you can climb up and look back across the harbour) a few years back when I visited Auckland toojk a whole day and although your sons are quite young mine was (my son that is my daughter was quite a bit older than 5) about the same age and loved it.

Maybe a bit too far north?

But I have heard very good reports about this place
I have not been yet but am thinking of taking the family sometime.

African Safari Experience

Experience offers our guests accommodation in spacious African Safari Tents in the most beautiful setting on the banks of a crystal clear mountain stream. All tents are facing the stream and are well spaced in order to ensure our guests' privacy. We are located on the SH11, approximately 5 km north from Kawakawa and 20 km south from Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands, New Zealand.

thanks for the suggestions! :-)

The African Safari one sounds good, but more for summer I think .. wife would accuse me of trying to freeze her to death :-)

One of the guys in the office here mentioned Goat Island Glass bottom boat, might look at that and see what accommodation is nearby .. weather depending though :-)
