We've been having cable issues with certain sites over the last 2 nights... 
Rang Telstra and they wanted to RDP into my pc (chromebook, lol) to check for virii.. Told them NO!
It then got escalated and they wanted to charge me money to check their cable modem and make sure the DNS was set right... After I read them the DNS off their cable modem.
And THEN it seems to be a national routing issue!

Obviously I told them some words that sound like "extortion" and "stick it up your bum".

Customer service.... *sigh*

Last post I see in that thread someone reckons switching to googleDNS didn't help them, I want to ask them if they cleared their DNS cache, but I'm not signing up just to say that.

Lol, I gave up too, as you could tell. But the fact they tell you that as opposed to fixing the problem.... :-/
