Not fair. You should compare with the geeks of America. Like Snowden gates Zuckerberg larry page ...

Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

13/13 - nothing there that isn't in high school science/chem with the exception of fracking - which has been in the news enough lately.

Klipspringer: The two I got wrong

- I thought Carbon dioxide made up most of the Earth's atmosphere. Really did not realize it was Nitrogen.
- "Nails rusting" a chemical reaction?

Nitrogen is inert, for us. CO2 would be a problem, global warming.

Rust = iron plus oxygen.

Rust is ferric oxide

Man I'm dumb .... I know all of that. LOL

My wife was painting her nails last night and that could be why I was thinking of finger nails. My first thought when I read the question was that it can't be finger nails, they don't rust! If they said something like iron rusting I would have got it.

13/13 for what it's worth. Interesting to see in the breakdown of results though that the younger half generally does better than the older except with issues that would be more prominent at other times or of more relevance in daily life, e.g. radioactivity and antibiotic resistance. Sort of counters some of the 'dumbing down' talk, though the test probably does tend towards topics relevant to the first half of the age range. Surprising how badly the majority did on the atmospheric composition question, especially with climate stories being fairly common in mainstream media.

jeffnz: you guys are way to clever for this old guy I only got 9/13 but one was rushing, even so its ok I'm not a University educated person.

Hey! Dont use age as an excuse - You have had longer to mop up information - of course some does start to fall out of your head to make way for new stuff :-)

I got 13/13 and never went to university - I cant actually think what of this general knowledge would be specifically university taught anyway....

It was all said in jest, maybe I should have lied and said nothing or used emoticons my apologies for confusing you
