It was a holding tank so I guess it's like hiding down the hole in a long-drop. Fun.

Few beers, some sandwiches, packet of chips, and I guess he could stay there all day.

He had much more supplies than that - he had been in there a very long time:

“Enlow claimed that he had been knocked unconscious and dumped inside the toilet by his angry, devious girlfriend. ... His girlfriend had been dead since last year.”

When asked why he had brought her down there with him, she sat up slowly and groaned 'Draaaaaaaains...'

Sad situation. But at least he didn't physically assault and violate a female. He will no doubt end up in an institution for the rest of his life. Sorted.
